A BOOT scooting dance event with a difference featuring cosmic country music act Ben Mastwyk and His Millions will raise money for music industry crisis relief organisation SupportAct on Saturday 23 November.<\/p>\n

To be held at St Bernard’s Parish Primary School in Bacchus Marsh, the afternoon’s proceedings will include a performance by Mastwyk and his band followed by a session of Bootscootin’ Bingo, where each successive line dance on the card will be drawn at random.<\/p>\n

The event’s organiser, Edward Kays from Neon Cowboys Bootscooters, which runs weekly classes in Bacchus Marsh, Ballan and Macedon, said the SupportAct organisation serves to help artists plus anyone else involved in putting on a concert, a festival, or a performance.<\/p>\n

“We’re talking everyone from your A-list celebrity musicians and artists, right down to first-time singers, your lighting techs, sound engineers, the guy running back and forth with the guitars for the lead singer,” he said.<\/p>\n

“They help all of them with financial aid, welfare support, suicide hotlines, all of it.”<\/p>\n

Mr Kays said the occasion is open to anyone and everyone.<\/p>\n

“Line dancing or boot scooting, whichever you want to call it, is probably one of the most inclusive hobbies or groups I’ve ever come across. There are people of all shapes, all colours, all walks of life,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Bootscootin’ Bingo SupportAct Fundraiser is happening on Saturday 23 November from midday to 5.30pm at St. Bernard’s Parish Primary School in Bacchus Marsh.<\/p>\n
