AS part of Moorabool Shire’s Hide and Seek Festival, Bacchus Marsh Arts Community, or BMAC, displayed a collection of original works at Bacchus Marsh Hall.<\/p>\n
The Hidden Creations exhibition was open last week and displayed the work of local creatives.<\/p>\n
Group member Bev Baker said the showcase was about discovering the hidden gems of the region.<\/p>\n
“The name came from the fact BMAC had a little gallery that we had exhibitions almost monthly in and when COVID came along we lost it,” she said.<\/p>\n
“The Hidden Creations relates to the fact all the artists of this area have hidden work at home they haven’t been able to exhibit.”<\/p>\n
A variety of works were on display such as watercolour, sculptures, quilting, mosaic and photography.<\/p>\n
“It’s a collection of works from local artists ranging from people have never shared their work to very professional people who regularly show and sell their work,” said Ms Baker.<\/p>\n
“It sort of covers the whole community.”<\/p>\n
Ms Baker said it is important to support creatives through initiatives such as Hide and Seek Festival.<\/p>\n
“It is essential that the artists of the region have the opportunity to show their work, not just to sell but to share it with people,” she said.<\/p>\n
“It’s just very important and creativity is so important to the wellbeing of people.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
