{"id":32694,"date":"2024-12-14T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=32694"},"modified":"2024-12-11T22:08:31","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T11:08:31","slug":"foam-fest-fun-supports-sick-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/foam-fest-fun-supports-sick-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Foam fest fun supports sick kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ST Anne&#8217;s Winery at Myrniong became a foamy obstacle course recently for the 5K Foam Fest fun run.<\/p>\n<p>Participants tackled 25 obstacles including slides and mud pits to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/12\/foamfest1_95809.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Make-A-Wish has been boosted by the fun run for the last 15 years.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our recent event in Myrniong was a huge success,&#8221; said vice-president of 5K Foam Fest holding company 365 Sports Michael Lambert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We saw almost 5000 Victorians attend and dive into 2.5 million cubic feet of foam with their family and friends.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/12\/foamfest2_95817.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"369\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">About 5000 people took part in the recent event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was wonderful to see Victorians come together and cheer each other on, truly embodying what it means to be a &#8216;fun run&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The event saw participants enjoying the world&#8217;s largest inflatable waterslide among the slip and slides, mucky mud pits and our all-new Corkscrew.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/12\/foamfest3_95812.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">With more events to come this summer in other locations, the fundraising goal of fun run organisers in the near future is $125,000.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This was also our 10-year anniversary, so it was great to give back to loyal participants and newcomers, by giving away special edition UV sunglasses as part of their participant packs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lambert said the company is proud to have partnered with Make-A-Wish for 15 years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2024\/12\/foamfest4_95833.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Slides and mud pits were part of the course.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our 5K Foam Fest events actively [contribute] to the carefully planned and delivered wishes that create a positive, lasting impact to sick children and their families,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Make-A-Wish receives all money raised through participant fundraising and all revenue generated from the Make-A-Wish gear check on-site.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Across this summer, we have a goal of fundraising $125,000, adding to the $5 million we&#8217;ve raised across the past 15 years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST Anne&#8217;s Winery at Myrniong became a foamy obstacle course recently for the 5K Foam Fest fun run.
