THE new year will see Bacchus Marsh Arts Community Gallery, or BMAC, begin a fresh program of activities.<\/p>\n

There will be a range of workshops, meetings, challenges and exhibitions throughout the year, with any local artists welcome to join the group.<\/p>\n

The first meeting of the year will be held on the third Tuesday of February at Lerderdeg Library and will focus on making coiled baskets.<\/p>\n

Participants are asked to bring a large needle for sewing, some fabric to tear into strips, and wool or embroidery threads.<\/p>\n

There will also be a series of challenges for the exhibition space throughout 2025 including creating round artworks, constructing a bag or making birds.<\/p>\n

“We are looking forward to next year,” BMAC president Alison Durham said.<\/p>\n

“Each meeting we are going to have an activity or just an opportunity to come and chat.”<\/p>\n

Ms Durham encouraged local artists to join the group so they can collaborate and learn.<\/p>\n

“It’s just a group of artists and we’re sharing our knowledge,” she said.<\/p>\n

“You actually get inspired by other people’s work and we’re all willing to share what we’ve learnt at other various workshops.”<\/p>\n
