THE State Government has announced an increase in baseline funding for rural sessional kindergarten services.<\/p>\n
More than 60 regional kindergartens will receive an increase in funding based on enrolment numbers for this year which totals almost $10 million.<\/p>\n
Eligible kindergartens will receive the increased baseline equivalent to 18 enrolments, even if they have fewer children.<\/p>\n
Service providers will receive the first increased payment automatically in term two.<\/p>\n
“Families in small towns deserve certainty when it comes to their children’s education \u2013 we’re making sure that no small kinder is left behind, giving our little learners the best start in life,” Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn said.<\/p>\n
“Regional kindergartens play a pivotal role in their communities, and we’re proud to support these services with more funding to help providers and local families.”<\/p>\n
To meet eligibility requirements, the kindergarten must be the only provider in their town or local area and have fewer than 18 enrolments.<\/p>\n
The extra funding aims to help service providers who might have higher operating costs in a regional area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
