{"id":33790,"date":"2025-03-16T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-15T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=33790"},"modified":"2025-03-13T12:31:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T01:31:35","slug":"policy-looks-to-positive-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/policy-looks-to-positive-future\/","title":{"rendered":"Policy looks to positive future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MOORABOOL Shire Council is developing an Investment Attraction Strategy, prospectus and policy, and stakeholders are invited to learn more at a series of workshops.<\/p>\n<p>Workshops will be held on Tuesday 18 March in Bacchus Marsh, Wednesday 19 March online and Tuesday 25 March in Ballan, where attendees will be presented with background research and initial findings about the policy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Council is in the early stages of developing an investment attraction strategy, prospectus and policy which is a priority project in Moorabool&#8217;s economic development and visitor economy strategies 2023\u20132027,&#8221; mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Participants will be presented with the background research and initial findings that have been undertaken to assist in developing an investment attraction strategy, prospectus and policy. The presentation will be followed by a discussion to seek valuable input from stakeholders.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The policy will look at Moorabool Shire&#8217;s population growth, particularly in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan, and challenges as the Shire competes with other fast-growing areas such as Melton, Wyndham, Ballarat and Geelong for business and funding.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The investment attraction strategy, prospectus and policy will focus on the current and forecast population growth and will aim to strengthen the local economy, reduce escape expenditure, promote local business activity, and help create job opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Following the stakeholder workshops, a draft strategy will be prepared for broader community consultation later in the year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To find out more about the strategy, visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moorabool.vic.gov.au\/Home\">Moorabool Shire Council<\/a> website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MOORABOOL Shire Council is developing an Investment Attraction Strategy, prospectus and policy, and stakeholders are invited to learn more at a series of workshops.
