{"id":33834,"date":"2025-03-20T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-19T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=33834"},"modified":"2025-03-19T17:57:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-19T06:57:52","slug":"athletes-return-from-state-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/sport\/athletes-return-from-state-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletes return from state championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOUR Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics Centre members have returned from the Little Athletics Victoria State Track and Field Championships at Casey Fields as medallists.<\/p>\n<p>Mackenzie Estlick took home three gold medals in under-17 shot put and the 200 and 100-metre events.<\/p>\n<p>She ran the 200 metres with a pending state record of 24.69 seconds and the 100 metres with a pending state record of 11.76 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Estlick also placed second in the under-17 long jump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She claimed medals in all her events, and she ended up winning the 100 and 200 with state record performances,&#8221; committee member Linda Thompson said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/03\/Alex_25509.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"799\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alex Lloyd won bronze in the under-17 high jump.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alexis Farrell came second in the under-12 shot put and discus while Caleb Hurst took home a silver medal in the under-16 800 metres.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Lloyd won bronze in the under-17 high jump, which is the fifth state championship medal he has won in the discipline during his time with the club.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All those children who medalled recorded personal best results on the day so they definitely lifted to the standard of the competition,&#8221; Ms Thompson said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They definitely performed outstandingly.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The club had 19 members taking part in the championships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOUR Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics Centre members have returned from the Little Athletics Victoria State Track and Field Championships at Casey Fields as medallists.
