LIBERAL candidate for Hawke Simmone Cottom has announced one million dollars in funding to resurface the Ballan Recreation Reserve oval if a Liberal Government is elected at the Federal Election on 3 May.<\/p>\n
The funding will also improve drainage at the oval with the aim of improving the park’s usability, safety and accessibility.<\/p>\n
“The Ballan Recreation Reserve is a cornerstone of our community, providing a place for families, sports enthusiasts and visitors to gather, play, and enjoy the outdoors,” Ms Cottom said.<\/p>\n
“However, it’s time to upgrade the oval to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of our growing community.<\/p>\n
“This project will ensure that the Ballan Recreation Reserve remains a vibrant hub for our community, promoting a healthy lifestyle and a stronger connection with nature.”<\/p>\n
David Leach, president of Ballan Cricket Club welcomed the announcement and said upgrades to the oval are needed.<\/p>\n
“Our current playing surface gets a high volume of traffic all year round, but the playing surface and drainage are in desperate need of an upgrade,” said Mr Leach.<\/p>\n
