THREE projects within Moorabool Shire have received funding as part of the State Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.<\/p>\n

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle announced Moorabool Shire Council will receive $37,500 to conduct a feasibility study into a Ballan Cycling Hub and $50,000 for the Lal Lal Falls Reserve master plan.<\/p>\n

The Mount Egerton Memorial Park committee received more than $7000 to go towards a park to commemorate those from the district who served in conflicts.<\/p>\n

Ms Settle said the initiative is about helping communities across the state to flourish.<\/p>\n

“It’s really aimed at making sure our smaller communities can have the things that they want, that they need,” she said.<\/p>\n

“What I really love about it is that it’s community driven, so communities can apply for it through Regional Development Victoria for whatever project they think that their town needs.”<\/p>\n

Kerryn Taylor of the Mount Egerton Memorial Park committee said the funding will help with stage one of the project.<\/p>\n

“It will go a long way to the first part of the memorial park which is to install the names of the soldiers,” she said.<\/p>\n

“These names will be on metal boards which will go down towards the rest of the park.<\/p>\n

“To get the recognition is great and it helps us to feel that we’re being heard and we’re just as important as everyone else.”<\/p>\n
