{"id":34805,"date":"2025-05-31T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=34805"},"modified":"2025-05-30T15:22:17","modified_gmt":"2025-05-30T05:22:17","slug":"funding-assists-schoolwith-future-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/funding-assists-schoolwith-future-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding assists school with future planning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BACCHUS Marsh College will share $10 million of funding with 20 schools around the state to plan for future capital upgrades and expansions.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made following the release of the State Government budget last week, and Member for Eureka Michaela Settle paid a visit to the school to congratulate staff and students.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Settle said as Bacchus Marsh grows and changes, it is critical to have adequate infrastructure to support the community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is a fabulous school, Bacchus Marsh College, and it has been serving the community for a very long time, but it is growing and so we need to put in the work now so it has all the resources and facilities it will need into the future,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/05\/BM4_17530.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Member for Eureka Michaela Settle visited the school last week to make the announcement.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We announced a package of $10 million across 20 schools across Victoria and they&#8217;ve been identified as schools that need the planning work now so that we can build for the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Principal Dionne Fenton thanked Ms Settle and Minister for Education Ben Carroll for their support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re really grateful for the support of Michaela and the Education Minister for coming out to our school and understanding what our requirements were,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Bacchus Marsh College is more than 100 years old and currently has about 1000 enrolled students.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Fenton said key priorities include upgrades to the oval, a performing arts centre, and senior and junior learning communities.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/05\/BM3_18831.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bacchus Marsh College principal Dionne Fenton on campus with Member for Eureka Michaela Settle.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We do have a vision and some ideas for what comes next, and we are midway planning for a school oval recreational redevelopment,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The opportunity to revisit a musical performing arts centre would be something, and certainly a senior learning community village and a junior learning community village with an extension to a comprehensive wellbeing space.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BACCHUS Marsh College will share $10 million of funding with 20 schools around the state to plan for future capital upgrades and expansions.
