{"id":34815,"date":"2025-05-30T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-29T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=34815"},"modified":"2025-05-28T17:23:00","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T07:23:00","slug":"new-dog-park-open-in-bacchus-marsh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/new-dog-park-open-in-bacchus-marsh\/","title":{"rendered":"New Dog Park open in Bacchus Marsh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SOME of Bacchus Marsh&#8217;s four-legged canine residents were the stars of Moorabool Shire Council&#8217;s most recent opening ceremony, and they had a ball.<\/p>\n<p>Masons Lane Dog Park was officially opened to the public last week and is a new, fully-fenced off-leash area, accessed from Young Street.<\/p>\n<p>It has a double gated entry to ensure dogs can socialise, run and roam safely within the space, and landscaping and pathway works were undertaken on the site, which is on a slope adjacent to the Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics Centre.<\/p>\n<p>The project was funded with $400,000 from the State Government&#8217;s New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program and $200,000 from the Moorabool Shire Council.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-34821\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/05\/IMG_0347_28527-1-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"Sergeant and Sherrin Caird try out the new dog park.\" width=\"600\" height=\"971\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Member for Eureka Michaela Settle, Moorabool Shire mayor Cr Paul Tatchell, councillors, council staff and members of the public attended the opening.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Masons Lane Dog park is a tail-wagging triumph for pet lovers and their four-legged companions,&#8221; Ms Settle said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a playgroup for pups, a meet-up spot for pet parents and a new hub for our community to come together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Erin Armstrong attended with her dog Lola and said they will be using the space regularly for a long time to come.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When the dogs are off-lead, they can socialise really well with eachother and we know they&#8217;re safe and contained here,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/05\/IMG_0386_31308.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"492\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The opening event&#8217;s Very Important Paw-sons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a really good social networking place for people as well.
