{"id":350,"date":"2017-04-04T02:46:39","date_gmt":"2017-04-04T02:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=350"},"modified":"2024-02-02T03:09:31","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T16:09:31","slug":"caught-in-the-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/caught-in-the-act\/","title":{"rendered":"Caught in the act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>By Jessica Howard<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ff341\"><span class=\"a\">It\u2019s been two decades since the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Bacchus Marsh Players performed\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">at the local public hall, but they\u2019re\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">ready to get the show on the road\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">again.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff341\"><span class=\"a\">The amateur theatre group is\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">planning for a 2017 Winter\/Spring<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff453\"><span class=\"a\">Season, which will be kicked off\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">at a public meeting on Saturday\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">April 8.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff453\"><span class=\"a\">Darley resident and group con<\/span><span class=\"a\">vener, Leon Newton said anyone\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">interested was encouraged to get\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">in touch and join in the fun.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff453\"><span class=\"a\">\u201cAmateur theatre has a long but\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">intermittent history in Bacchus\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Marsh. It\u2019s time to get the show on\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">the road again,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff453\"><span class=\"a\">\u201cPeople in Moorabool Shire and\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">in Melton are very welcome to join\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">in, but we want our base of op<\/span><span class=\"a\">erations to be in Bacchus Marsh,<\/span><span class=\"a\">where it\u2019s been more than 20 years\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">since the Bacchus Marsh Players\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">performed at the public hall.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff453\"><span class=\"a\">\u201cAn amateur theatre production\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">is always a lot of fun for audi<\/span><span class=\"a\">ences, the performers and all the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">on-stage crew as well \u2013 everyone\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">can participate\u201d<span class=\"l7\">.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff341\"><span class=\"a\">Secretary of the Bacchus Marsh\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Arts Council, John Spain said the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Arts Council strongly supported\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">the new Bacchus Marsh group.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff341\"><span class=\"a\">\u201cOur mission is to promote all of\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">the arts in our district. This is an\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">exciting initiative and we\u2019ll help in\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">whatever ways we can\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ff341\"><span class=\"a\">The Amateur Theatre Group will\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">meet at the James Young Room in\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">the Lerderderg Library, Bacchus\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"a\">Marsh at 2pm on April 8.
