Have Your Say webpage.<\/a><\/p>\nCouncil officers aim to learn more about perceived road safety issues from drivers, riders and pedestrians.<\/p>\n
Mayor Cr Paul Tatchell hopes residents and visitors will provide as much feedback as possible to help identify and address road safety issues in Moorabool.<\/p>\n
“In the last five years there have been 665 casualty crashes in the Moorabool Shire, resulting in 457 serious injuries and 37 fatalities,” he said.<\/p>\n
“These numbers are more than statistics, they represent real people in our community whose lives have been forever changed. It is important to bring those numbers down.<\/p>\n
“Council can analyse crash data and tap into the knowledge of staff and Victoria Police, however, to get a better understanding of why crashes occur, where the main problems are, and the opportunities to make improvements, we need feedback from the local community and visitors to the Shire.<\/p>\n
“We know that local knowledge is key to improving safety outcomes. We encourage everyone to have their say.”<\/p>\n
In-person sessions will be held in August following the survey.<\/p>\n
The sessions will include road safety data specific to Moorabool Shire, a discussion of the survey results and the key themes that emerge from community feedback.<\/p>\n
The Moorabool Community Road Safety Strategy will be developed after the community engagement process is complete.<\/p>\n
The survey will close on Sunday 27 July and takes only a few minutes to complete.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
