MELTON Toyota Emperors joined the 2025 Variety Charity Bash last week to raise funds for Australian children in need.<\/p>\n
The team left Hamilton last Friday en route to Darwin, hoping to cross the finish line on Sunday 17 August.<\/p>\n
Grant Harrison, Paul Cunningham and Paul Dobson, better known as the Melton Toyota Emperors, will travel through iconic outback landscapes, representing Melton.<\/p>\n
“Our Toyota Crown might be from 1985, but she’s still got a lot of heart, just like this cause,” leading Emperor Grant Harrison said.<\/p>\n
“We’re thrilled to represent Melton and help make a real impact for Aussie kids.”<\/p>\n
Now in its 50th year, the Variety Bash is not just a ride with all proceeds from the longest running motoring event going to children’s charity Variety, supporting children who are sick, disadvantaged or living with a disability.<\/p>\n
Along the route, the Bash delivers much-needed grants to local schools and organisations.<\/p>\n
Towns hosting the Bash welcome the event, often experiencing a major economic boost as visitors spend on fuel, food and tourism.<\/p>\n
“Sometimes our outrageous convoy of colourfully themed cars even outnumbers the locals,” Emperor Paul Cunningham said.<\/p>\n
The Melton Toyota Emperors are known for their energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to giving back and locals are encouraged to follow their journey online.<\/p>\n
