{"id":35687,"date":"2025-08-22T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-21T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=35687"},"modified":"2025-08-20T19:05:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T09:05:12","slug":"one-cut-closer-to-a-cure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/one-cut-closer-to-a-cure\/","title":{"rendered":"One cut closer to a cure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BACCHUS Marsh Primary School year 6 students Arthur, Lucas, Ilija, and Jack had their hair shaved off at assembly on Monday 18 August in front of 780 of their peers to raise funds and awareness for the Cancer Council Victoria.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/08\/IMG_0787_37847.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The proud shavers post haircut.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Their aim was to raise $5000 to go towards cancer research, and they are set to reach their goal, with $4921 raised from gold coin donations from their fellow pupils.<\/p>\n<p>The cause is close to home for Arthur and the O&#8217;Neill family.
