{"id":36331,"date":"2025-10-17T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/?p=36331"},"modified":"2025-10-15T22:11:53","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T11:11:53","slug":"four-centuries-of-volunteer-service-recognised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/four-centuries-of-volunteer-service-recognised\/","title":{"rendered":"Four centuries of volunteer service recognised"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MEMBERS of the Wallace Fire Brigade have been formally recognised for their combined contribution of more than four hundred years of service.<\/p>\n<p>Over 60 brigade volunteers, their families and members of the community attended a function at the Springbank Recreation Reserve clubrooms last Friday for presentations of service awards.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2025\/10\/NormLazzo_19742.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Norm Lazzo (centre), pictured with CFA west region deputy chief officer Brett Boatman and Wallace Fire Brigade captain John Toohey, received a medal for 45 years of service to the brigade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CFA brigade administration support officer Irene Keating said deputy chief officer for the west region, Brett Boatman, presented awards ranging from recognition of five years of service to a 60-year CFA Life Medal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In total, this small brigade of 21 members received recognition for over 400 years of service,&#8221;
