BANDITS V CONCORDES WHITE\u202f<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week saw Bandits come up against Concordes White and while the weather wasn\u2019t something players hope for in a summer sport, the girls got straight into action.<\/p>\n

Concordes White started sharply in the first innings getting runners on base early and putting pressure on Bandits fielders.<\/p>\n

With safe ground hits to centrefield from Dana Jones and Codie Jackway they were quick to add to the score board.<\/p>\n

Bandits replied with safe hits from Mackenzie Millard and Deb Hicks, with a beautiful hit tocentrefield from Kylie Cook, Bandits runners took off only to be denied advancing by animpressive catch from Sonya Crute.<\/p>\n

With bases loaded and two out Bandits couldn\u2019t quitecapitalise with the third out coming soon after.<\/p>\n

Bandits made pitching changes in the second innings, bringing Montanna Millard from leftfield to the mound.<\/p>\n

Concordes White couldn\u2019t quite get on top and were forced back out to the field without gaining any more runs.<\/p>\n

Bandits came out firing with a massive hit to centre field, Chantel McDonald got those legsmoving and rounded all the bases narrowly missing a tag from Concordes White catcher andclaiming her first home run of the season.<\/p>\n

Montanna then followed in suit with a three bag hit to right field, and with safe hits from Di Horbury, Kylie Cook and Chrystal Lock, Bandits took the lead 5 -3.<\/p>\n

Concordes White put on another run in the third before the innings concluded.<\/p>\n

With a pitching change in the bottom third bringing in Sonya Crute, Bandits were able to put on another four runs leaving the final score 9-4.<\/p>\n

DEMONS V CONCORDES UNITED<\/strong><\/p>\n

In terrible weather conditions, Concordes United showed true grit and teamwork to secure a hard fought, close victory \u2014 and they did it playing one player short.<\/p>\n

The match kicked off in dramatic fashion with a triple play in the very first dig, setting the tone for a determined defensive effort all game long.<\/p>\n

Despite the cold and rain, the energy stayed high and the spirit never wavered.<\/p>\n

Rosie Clark and Aimee Brooks came out swinging to set the tone early with strong batting, while Jerri-Lee Cooper and Linley Pollard added key RBIs to keep the runs flowing.<\/p>\n

Jerri-Lee Cooper continued to impress in just her third ever game, contributing confidently at the plate and in the field.<\/p>\n

Demons fought back through Em Hart and Meg Merrett, both batting strongly and some clever base steeling from Cody Manning and Kez Feast.<\/p>\n

Tylar Kennett and Cody Manning both pitched a great game, despite the wet conditions and constant ball swaps to keep it dry.<\/p>\n

Linley Pollard and Em Hart both showed off their amazing catching skills, despite being stuck in the mud.<\/p>\n

Emalee Dowdell shining in her first ever game, showing great promise and composure.<\/p>\n

Dianne Wilson held firm in the outfield with a great catch and Te-Kani Clark wrapped things up in style with another outstanding catch, proving once again why she\u2019s a key player to watch.<\/p>\n

To top it all off, the team celebrated coach Julie\u2019s birthday with plenty of smiles, muddy uniforms, and well-earned post-game cheer.<\/p>\n

WARRIORS BLUE V WARRIORS WHITE<\/strong><\/p>\n

In literally polar contrast in weather conditions from last weekend, the Warriors crew faced off in slippery conditions.<\/p>\n

Linda Dodds channelled her inner Rosie Clark and donned the beanie in a wise choice of attire as she base coached for both sides.<\/p>\n

Warriors White drew early blood with two runs in the top of the first care of the leg speed pressure of Sarah Polderman.<\/p>\n

She punished any looseness in Blue\u2019s battery, taking advantage then scoring on an uncharacteristic right side shot by Kelly Doyle showing team hitting skill.<\/p>\n

Steph Chant ran out a dropped third strike and was moved around by a fantastic shot up the middle by first gamer Hannah Taylor.<\/p>\n

It was Jas Disselbach who notched up the RBI with a ground ball to Angela Queale at third.<\/p>\n

Harlow Castleman had some good cuts in the batter\u2019s box and took an absolute screamer catch at centerfield for her side, considering the latter evidence of her redemption after experiencing concrete shoes earlier in the game.<\/p>\n

The youngster\u2019s quick wit and lofty expectations of herself fitting with the Warriors coaching staff.<\/p>\n

Blue flexed in the first scoring 10 via singles to Maddy Bignell, Taylor Pearson, Queale and two to Bruggemann.<\/p>\n

Pearson\u2019s Best and Fairest victory for her netball team carrying over into her softball form as she continues to dominate with graceful ease.<\/p>\n

Blues had their strike zone eyes in with Caroline Bradshaw, Kloe Phillips and Tash Vickers amongst the walks facing Polderman\u2019s lasers.<\/p>\n

Mel Chuck for Warriors White pulled the first pitch trigger in the second, drilling a line drive to Queale who thankfully had her glove just in the right spot for the humdinger which may have otherwise obliterated her shin.<\/p>\n

Bruggemann\u2019s jinx continued against left handers as she walked Karen Teanau before another first gamer in Kirsty Hem made good contact but was thrown out at first.<\/p>\n

Blues added seven in the bottom half of the dig with Phillips, Analeigh Anderson, in her first game, and Vickers jumping on base with Pearson hitting a curly shot just over Taylor\u2019s head at second and the Blues running the bases calmly for the situation scoring one.<\/p>\n

A couple of bases loaded walks and Queale forcing an error scored runs before Polderman decided to toss the ball to Chuck who promptly got a strike out and then played the lead runner at home for the second out.<\/p>\n

Doyle was rock solid behind the plate all day with her pick ups in the dirt. Bignell flew out to Castleman that put White back into hit.<\/p>\n

Although Doyle had been tricked on a few change ups, she returned to status quo with a shot to Queale at third.<\/p>\n

Queale had a great day on defence making four plays in slippery conditions.<\/p>\n

Chant stepped in with two strikes and no balls and launched a pie out to Anderson at left.<\/p>\n

Taylor again made solid contact, this time to Phillips at shortstop who made a lovely play over to Pearson at first.<\/p>\n

Disselbach was also fooled on a change up for the last out.<\/p>\n

Chuck continued to work the zone pitching to Blues and got a donut up on the board for her side as well as another strike out and Polderman two catches at short.<\/p>\n

Plenty of positives for the new players in Taylor, Castleman, Phillips, Hem, Teanau, and Anderson to the great game to take away.<\/p>\n
