Parkrunner Sarah Guy is spearheading the campaign and said hopes were high that some form of government support could be secured, although precisely where funding would come from has not yet been determined.<\/p>\n
Ms Guy said Member for Eureka Michaela Settle and several Moorabool Shire councillors including mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor \u2013 a regular run participant \u2013 were all present at the launch event and all indicated their personal support.<\/p>\n
“The old toilet block is not fit for purpose, not in the right spot and pretty old,” Ms Guy said, adding that she and other park users were hoping the Shire would officially recognise the need for a new toilet block.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n “We’ve shown that we’ve got community support for it; we had a big turnout on the day and support from local government and state-level government for it, so here’s hoping.”<\/p>\n Peppertree Park is on Grant Street beside the Bacchus Marsh outdoor pool. The Werribee River runs alongside the park, which is experiencing steady growth in visitor numbers.<\/p>\n It was primarily the increasing usage that prompted moves for a new toilet block.<\/p>\n When she announced the campaign earlier this year, Ms Guy said a new facility was a constant topic for discussion among parkrunners (the parkrun organisation is not involved in the campaign).<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/28\/2026\/03\/PeppertreePark03_08509-771x1024.jpg?_t=1773229895\"){kind=spacer}
