The Mayor of Moorabool will rely on all councillors to take on the unofficial role of deputy mayor in 2019\/20, rather than a \u2018voted-in\u2019 councillor for the position.
\nIt is not a requirement of local government to appoint a deputy mayor however, over the past few years councillors voted to appoint such, but not at the last mayoral election.
\nAt the Statutory and Annual Appointments meeting held on Wednesday 13 November, Cr Paul Tatchell moved to not elect a deputy.
\n\u201cIn the last year of council, I move a motion to not run a deputy mayor.\u201d
\nThis was seconded by West Ward Councillor Tom Sullivan.
\nCr Tonia Dudzik objected.<\/p>\n
