{"id":7769,"date":"2021-11-16T15:00:53","date_gmt":"2021-11-16T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=7769"},"modified":"2024-02-04T05:13:14","modified_gmt":"2024-02-03T18:13:14","slug":"persistence-key-in-powerline-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/persistence-key-in-powerline-fight\/","title":{"rendered":"Persistence key in powerline fight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Lachlan Ellis<\/p>\n<p>A senior DELWP member has told locals concerned about the Western Victoria Transmission Network Project (WVTNP) to continue voicing their questions and concerns, while planning is still in progress.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Krohn is Senior Impact Assessor at DELWP, which is responsible for administering the Environmental Effects Statement (EES) process, which the project is currently going through.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday 11 November, Mr Krohn presented at an online community meeting hosted by Moorabool Shire Council, titled \u2018Update on the Environment Effects Statement (EES) process\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He said the EES that AusNet was currently preparing could take over a year, but the community would have the chance to provide input before a final decision is made on the WVTNP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreparing an EES can take commonly in excess of 18 months. Sometimes we have them still being prepared 3 or 4 years after the [Planning] Minister\u2019s decision that an EES is required,\u201d Mr Krohn said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur [DELWPs] role is to ensure the proponent is able to prepare an appropriate EES.
