The course is in the best condition it\u2019s been for years, and the Bacchus Marsh West Golf Club is welcoming players of all skill levels to come down and give golf a go.<\/p>\n

The Club is hosting a 3-week Adult Beginner Program for just $40, from 6 \u2013 7 pm on Friday February 11, 18, and 25.<\/p>\n

The program will be run by PGA-accredited Golf Victoria coach, Tony Collier, who will also be running a junior clinic on the same days. Golf clubs will be available for hire.<\/p>\n

President of the Club\u2019s Ladies Committee, Wendy Knipe, said the Club was eager to present golf as a family game for all ages.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that if you come and play 18 holes as a mother with children, it does take time out of your day \u2013 that can be a factor in some women being hesitant to play. But golf can be a family thing\u2026the husband doesn\u2019t just need to go to play golf, he can bring his wife and children, and we can cater for all of them,\u201d Ms Knipe told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur course has improved in leaps and bounds…it\u2019s been great that we\u2019ve been able to collaborate with a couple of the local developers on the right-hand side of the course, they\u2019ve provided run-off from their estate,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Ms Knipe said she has been a member for 17 years, and the course is the best it\u2019s ever looked.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s purely volunteer-run, so it\u2019s an absolute credit to everyone who does any kind of work on the course.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bacchus Marsh West Golf Club will mark its 50th anniversary this year, and while the pandemic continues making long-term planning tricky, the Club hopes to mark the occasion a social event.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the club has been so COVID aware of late, we haven\u2019t planned too far ahead at this stage. The 50th anniversary will be held this year, probably around April, subject to COVID health regulations and will be a social event for all past and present members & volunteers,\u201d Ms Knipe said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe club is excited by the progress and improvement in the club over recent years, and is keen to share it with all members past and present. We are looking forward to the next 50 years.\u201d<\/p>\n
