{"id":8879,"date":"2022-03-04T14:00:36","date_gmt":"2022-03-04T03:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=8879"},"modified":"2024-02-04T00:39:10","modified_gmt":"2024-02-03T13:39:10","slug":"coffee-with-a-councillor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/news\/coffee-with-a-councillor\/","title":{"rendered":"Coffee with a Councillor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Lachlan Ellis<\/p>\n<p>If you live in Bacchus Marsh and you have questions regarding Council, a more personal interaction than a call or email will soon be available \u2013 having a morning coffee with a local Councillor.<\/p>\n<p>Rod Ward is one of four Councillors for the East Ward, which takes in Bacchus Marsh, Darley, and Maddingley and said passers-by recognising him while he was having a coffee, had given him the idea to organise regular chats with residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt all came about quite by accident\u2026I do receive a number of emails and phone calls from residents, but I suppose not every resident has the capability or time to send an email or pick up the phone,\u201d Cr Ward told the Moorabool News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy chance, I was having a coffee one Saturday morning, and in a 20-minute period I had three residents approach me for three different matters.
