Anakie-based Angela Langton will supply half the field in the Group 3 Carlin & Gazzard MG Mount Gambier Cup (512m) this Sunday.<\/p>\n

Langton produced two heat winners \u2013 Keep It Blue (29.52sec – Best) and Blazing Times (29.83) \u2013 and two second placegetters \u2013 Keep It Black and Weblec Ranger, which posted overall times of 29.61sec and 29.67sec respectively, from last weekend\u2019s six heats at Tara Raceway.<\/p>\n

It was a remarkable training performance and Langton will collect more than just a $26,000 first prize if Weblec Ranger snares the event.<\/p>\n

A $10,000 bonus applies to any greyhound winning the G3 Murray Bridge Cup-Mount Gambier Cup double and a $5000 bonus is allocated to any trainer winning both races. <\/p>\n

Weblec Ranger landed the \u2018first leg\u2019 \u2013 and a $26,000 winner\u2019s cheque \u2013 on March 20. He was also a finalist in last year\u2019s G3 Great Chase at The Meadows.<\/p>\n

Keep It Blue was a finalist last year in the G3 Warragul St Leger, Geelong Derby and Warrnambool Derby, while litter brother Keep It Black also contested the Warragul St Leger and was a finalist in the G3 Cranbourne Classic.<\/p>\n

And Blazing Times is a six-time winner on Victoria\u2019s metropolitan tracks.<\/p>\n

In assessing her chances, Langton said: \u201cOn ability, my preference is Keep It Black.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the worry is Blazing Times (Box 1) wants to get off the track. I\u2019m hoping he doesn\u2019t cause interference to the \u2018two\u2019 (Keep It Blue) and \u2018three\u2019 (Keep It Black).\u201d<\/p>\n

Langton added she expected her quartet to improve from the experience on the track, highlighting Blazing Times \u201clost a lot of ground tracking wide\u201d. <\/p>\n

And she says Weblec Ranger will be suited in box eight. \u201cI think he likes it out there; he won the Murray Bridge Cup from the \u2018pink\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll give him a chance to muster early and help him get across.\u201d <\/p>\n

Langton\u2019s \u2018fab four\u2019 will be joined by Victorian counterpart Quinlan Bale (three wins from only five starts) \u2013 prepared at Avalon by former pro wrestler Daniel Gibbons \u2013 which won his heat in a slick 29.60sec.<\/p>\n

And another Avalon speedster, 2021 G1 Golden Easter Egg finalist Devel Sixteen \u2013 trained by Jessica Sharp \u2013 is the second reserve.<\/p>\n
