A partnership between Moorabool Shire Council, the State Government, and Greater Western Water (GWW) will see $250,000 go towards designing the essentials for the planned Parwan Employment Precinct.<\/p>\n
The State Government will invest $200,000 from the Investment Fast Track Fund for Council to develop plans for electricity, potable water, and sewer systems in the precinct \u2013 complemented by Council and GWW\u2019s contributions of $25,000 each.<\/p>\n
GWW Managing Director Maree Lang thanked Council and the State Government for their support, and said the company was grateful to be a part of the collaboration.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be a partner in this project, and be able to partner with State Government, Council, and key stakeholders, to really see the possibilities of the Parwan area\u2026to see this area activated, and see this grid planning really realising the potential of the area,\u201d Ms Lang said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur planners and engineers are absolutely chomping at the bit to get more and more involved in how we set out smart grids for this area, and looking forward to seeing this being a real economic boost in terms of job opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cr Sullivan said the Parwan Employment Precinct would provide significant job opportunities and an economic boost for Moorabool.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis precinct has the potential to create an innovative agribusiness precinct that could actively employ over 1500 full-time jobs. There will also be jobs during the construction process. This is an exciting project, and we look forward to the development over coming years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe currently have around 60 per cent of residents leaving the Shire for work. If we can provide local jobs in the agribusiness and industrial sectors in the Parwan precinct, what a great thing that would be for our Shire.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
