{"id":9779,"date":"2022-05-04T11:00:28","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T01:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/themooraboolnews.com.au\/?p=9779"},"modified":"2024-02-01T21:36:00","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T10:36:00","slug":"inter-dom-on-the-horizon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/themooraboolnews\/sport\/inter-dom-on-the-horizon\/","title":{"rendered":"Inter Dom on the horizon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Tim O&#8217;Connor (HRV)<\/p>\n<p>Scott Ewen is dreaming big with his best mate Bulletproof Boy.<\/p>\n<p>The Cranbourne trainer-driver revealed the seven-year-old veteran of more than 100 starts is being set for this year\u2019s Inter Dominion Championships after his impressive win in Saturday night\u2019s TAB Golden Reign Free For All at Tabcorp Park Melton.<\/p>\n<p>Ewen\u2019s charge capitalised on the early burn from Its Back In The Day (John Nicholson\/Michelle Phillips) and Malcolms Rhythm (David Aiken\/Josh Aiken) and was saved for one run at his rivals in the home straight. He peeled three deep from the one-one at the final turn, hit the front at the 150m mark and then held off the fast-finishing Shortys Mate (Julie Douglas\/Jack Laugher) who dived home along the sprint lane.<\/p>\n<p>Following his 31st\u00a0career victory at start 124, Ewen said Bulletproof Boy was likely to have one more run and then a six-week spell before starting a campaign aimed at the Inter Dominion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s just as good as most of them when he gets that right run,\u201d Ewen said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t go to the Inters last year.
