An art affair to remember
LOCAL artists and artisans will showcase their creativity at the Arts-A-Fair 2480 Art Market in South Lismore, offering unique Christmas gifts and live demonstrations.
Flourish Gallery and Studio in South Lismore will host the market on Saturday, November 30, with 20 stalls selling the work of established and emerging artists.
Owner of the gallery Jeht Burgoyne said the Northern Rivers has a vibrant arts community supported by five art galleries, and the market was another way for artists to connect with each other and the public.
“The market supports our artists and gives them the chance to be seen and to continue making their art,” Ms Burgoyne said.
Last year’s market was popular with the public, and Ms Burgoyne said they hoped to recreate the “nice community buzzing vibe” this year.
Artists will sell their works, including paintings, jewellery, and hand-carved boxes, and give live demonstrations of weaving, felting, and painting.
Lismore Art Club will have a table selling cards and raffles to raise money for the club.
Food and entertainment will add to the festive atmosphere, with Fernando’s Vegetarian Mexican Food Van on site, Skimmo’s Food Van just across the road and five buskers performing throughout the day.
The market is part of a busy schedule for Flourish Gallery leading into Christmas. Upcoming workshops, sponsored by Lismore City Council, include Bodacious Badges for Teens and Collage to Canvas on November 23.
The gallery will also host the exhibition For the Love of Lismore from December 6 to 20, celebrating the region’s creativity and community spirit.
Flourish Gallery and Studio is located at 15 Casino Street, South Lismore.
