PERSONAL stories of resilience, loss and transformation will be shared at Stories That Stir at Husk Farm Distillery in Tumbulgum this Sunday, May 4.

The event features six storytellers from a range of backgrounds, each delivering a 10-minute story on the theme of “flow”.

Joy Uzangi will share her experience of becoming paralysed from the neck down after a sudden illness in 2019. Trapped in her own body, unable to move or speak, she faced some of the darkest moments of her life. Her story reflects on loss, resilience, faith and the determination to reclaim her life.

Small-town country GP Hilton Koppe will recount how a less-than-complimentary poem from a long-term patient challenged him personally and professionally. His response to the unexpected criticism helped transform his outlook and ultimately brought unexpected rewards.

Louise Walker’s story explores how a life filled with success, ambition and adventure masked deep grief. Burnout at 30 forced her to confront her losses and led her to stop fighting life and embrace the concept of flow.

Becc Sahasrara will share how the idea of flow was not found through striving but through letting go. By releasing the “need to know” and trusting uncertainty, she discovered a deeper connection to herself and her path forward.

Author of The Scars We Carry Zilla Carina will reflect on her journey of overcoming relationship abuse. She describes how finding and embracing flow helped her break free from destructive patterns and transform scars into stepping stones toward a stronger future.

Louise Cargo will discuss how clinging to the familiar complicated her life, and how a major upheaval in 2022 forced her to surrender. Learning to live in flow, she found a new way to move through uncertainty and embrace change.
