2025 Community Grants Program recipients announced
TWEED Shire Council has announced the recipients of the 2025 Community Grants Program.
Thirteen local groups have received a total of $38,785 in funding, including an art school, local preschools, a theatre company, a fishing group and a community garden.
Administered by Tweed Shire Council, the 2025 Community Grants Program supports community groups and not-for-profit organisations.
Grant recipients in the $4,000 to $5,000 range include Cycle Without Age Australia– Burringbar Chapter, Murwillumbah Community Gardens, Tumbulgum Fishing Club, Tumbulgum Community Association, Murwillumbah Football Club and Dragons Abreast Wollumbin.

Receiving between $680 and $2400 were Burringbar School of the Arts, Pottsville & District Men’s Shed, Rotary Club of Banora Tweed, Murwillumbah Theatre Company, Lifebridge Australia, Pottsville Community Preschool, and Wallum Community Preschool.
Tweed Shire Council’s acting director of sustainable communities and environment, Shannon Carruth, said the grants program encouraged and championed local groups delivering programs with tangible social impact.
“These grants represent a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, support each other, and make a real difference,” Carruth said.
“We are so very proud to support these organisations and their dedication to creating a more inclusive and caring community.
“Successful organisations demonstrated how their projects would promote inclusion, build social connection, and enhance wellbeing and safer communities.
“We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to apply for a Community Grant this year. Your passion, creativity and commitment to making the Tweed a stronger and more inclusive place are inspiring,” Carruth said.
