30 new flood buyback homes on offer
THE New South Wales Reconstruction Authority (RA) has appointed local real estate agent PRD Northern Rivers to market selected flood buyback homes and manage sales.
Around 30 homes in Lismore and Murwillumbah will be sold through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
The ongoing use of these buyback homes will help preserve the region’s heritage and memories. Many of these homes are constructed from hardwood and can be relocated to more suitable, safer land.
The homes include charming old timber homes, with some properties requiring more work than others to revive their former glory: many feature front verandas, high ceilings, and traditional features.
The Relocatable Homes EOI is open to all members of the public. Homes will be sold in their current condition, and a hazardous materials report will be available for each home to guide purchasers.
All submissions will be assessed by an evaluation panel and overseen by an Independent Probity Advisor.
All eligible EOIs will be assessed against the weighted criteria that include buyer type (40 per cent weighting), buyer readiness (40 per cent) and financial offer (20 per cent).
RA will invite the highest-ranked EOI submission for each home to enter contract negotiations.
The Relocatable Homes EOI is open until 5 pm on February 14.
