FAMILIES are being invited to combine wildlife encounters with an outdoor movie experience at a special Cinema Under the Stars event in Ballina.
It will be held on Saturday, 27 June and is hosted by the Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary and Cherry Street Sports Club.
There will be an outdoor screening of Zootopia 2 at the bowling club, alongside close-up encounters with some of the sanctuary’s animal ambassadors.
Zootopia 2 is a popular animated film which includes voices overs from Dwayne Johnson and Shakira.
Ticket holders will also receive admission to Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary at Knockrow on the day of the event, giving families the opportunity to explore the attractions and animals before heading to Ballina for the evening screening.
A spokesperson for Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary said the event offered a unique opportunity for families to connect with wildlife before settling in for an outdoor cinema experience.
“Guests can spend the day exploring the sanctuary and meeting our amazing animals before settling in under the stars for an unforgettable evening,” the spokesperson said.
Wildlife keepers will make a special appearance before the movie begins, giving guests the chance to meet some of the sanctuary’s resident animals up close and learn more about their conservation stories.
Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or low-backed chairs and dress warmly for the evening. Food and snacks will be available for purchase at the club.
A range of ticket options is available, including VIP bean bag seating, adult and junior tickets, and family passes.
