EXPRESSIONS of interest are now open for the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership (CBP) program, which will provide $450,000 in funding for the Lismore electorate.

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin is encouraging not-for-profit organisations and local councils to apply for grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to support small-scale infrastructure projects across the region.

Saffin said priority will be given to projects that strengthen community life, including initiatives that support volunteering, improve social connection, increase access to sport and recreation, promote arts and culture, protect the environment, or preserve local heritage.

“In our Electorate of Lismore, we are looking for small infrastructure projects that will improve people’s lives in your local community, Local Government Area, or if regional in scope, the Northern Rivers,” Saffin said.

“Other Electorate District priorities may include how your project supports volunteerism and community service; promotes social inclusion and connectivity; increases participation in sport and recreation, fosters the arts and culture, cares for our environment, or preserves local history, including community hubs like country halls, heritage buildings and museum collections.”

She also noted that disaster resilience projects will be considered where relevant.

“Parts of our Electorate have been impacted by natural disasters such as floods, bushfires and storms,” she said.

“If applicable, we need to know how your project might better prepare people for these impacts.”

The 2026 round will be delivered in two stages, beginning with an expression of interest process.

Applications for the EOIs close on 8 May at 5pm with shortlisted applicants to be notified by the end of June and successful grant projects announced early next year.

The CBP program has funded more than 22,000 community projects across NSW since 2009, with a total of $41.85 million available statewide in the 2026 round.
