THE James Frizelle Charitable Foundation has donated $25,000 to boost the annual Our Kids Community Grants program.

Our Kids raises funds to support children with special needs and chronic illness in the Northern Rivers.

The community grants are open to families, health professionals and local organisations caring for children aged 17 and under. Funds can be used to purchase equipment and therapeutic items not covered by the NDIS.

Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Battista said applicants could apply for grants of up to $2000.

“The Our Kids Community Grants are a beautiful way to give back to families and children outside of hospital,” Battista said.

“We encourage families and carers of children with special needs in the Northern Rivers to apply for equipment or therapeutic assistance not funded through NDIS.

“Thank you to the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation for supporting the Our Kids Community Grant Project.

“They aim to make a lasting difference in the lives of people in need across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW, and we’re proud to partner with them to support families in our region.”

Applications close Tuesday, July 1.

A quote for the requested items and a referral letter from the child’s medical team must be provided.
