Lismore Business Awards
JOEL Jensen received a standing ovation when his construction company was named the Business of the Year at the 2024 Lismore Business Excellence Awards on Saturday night.
It showed the high esteem held for the team at Joel Jensen Constructions, who were instrumental in Lismore’s flood recovery. The team picked up a total of five awards.
Hosted by Business Lismore (Lismore Chamber of Commerce) at the Lismore Turf Club, the event brought together more than 270 people to celebrate excellence, innovation and resilience in the local business community.
It was the first time since 2019 that the award ceremony was held in person – it was held online in 2021.
“It’s great to see people coming together to celebrate all we have achieved over the past four years,” Business Lismore secretary Felicity Hyde said.
“It was a positive night that showed increasing confidence in Lismore.”
Ms Hyde said the award night celebrated excellence in business but also gave business owners the chance to network and boosted the local economy.
“It’s helped the economy. A lot of people stayed in town, bought outfits, and had lunch and breakfast. It was a successful night,” she said.
Ms Hyde said the positive response to Mr Jensen’s award win was overwhelming.
“Joel is exceptional – the work he does. He’s willing to help anyone, anytime. Well done to Joel,” she said.
