THE Tweed Wedding Trail will mark its ninth consecutive year on January 12 and continues to grow as a flagship destination wedding event.

The free and interactive fair inspires searchers to tour the shire’s coastal and hinterland areas and meet over 100 wedding suppliers.

The event is self-paced and allows couples to view wedding venues in their own time all in one day, meeting 100 local suppliers and teams from 10 venues.

Founder of Tweed Coast Weddings and Tweed Coast Guide James Mason said that after nine years, the enthusiasm and excitement from suppliers and venues was at an all-time high.

“We are sure that this will be one of the best yet, and we are so happy to bring such an amazing event to our region,” Mason said.

“Our venues and suppliers are world-class, and the Trail is a great day out exploring everything our beautiful region has to offer.”

The moveable feast will travel to renowned venues, including Osteria, Ancora, Summergrove Estate, Ardeena, Plantation House, Babalou, Farm + Co Weddings, Greenview at Cabarita Beach and Potager Restaurant.

Couples will see their dream venues perfectly styled, meet celebrants, planners, photographers, videographers, florists, hair and makeup artists, and experience local entertainers, live drawing, and cake tastings.

General Manager of The Tweed Tourism Company Sally Scott said that destination weddings significantly contributed to tourism, as they were often held outside peak travel seasons and often included extended stays.

“We know when couples choose to tie the knot in holiday destinations like the Tweed, their friends and family will take the opportunity to add extra days to their trip to enjoy a pre- or post-wedding break,” Scott said.

“This additional spending on accommodation, cafes, dining out, tours, and shopping benefits the local economy.

“The Tweed is an ideal destination wedding region with both coastal and hinterland locations, an incredible array of local suppliers and strong appeal as a great spot to holiday,” she said.
