Northern Rivers schools finalists in NSW Premier’s Awards
TWELVE Northern Rivers schools have been named finalists in the NSW Premier’s Awards for their efforts in supporting students’ wellbeing and community recovery after the 2022 floods.
The schools were commended for taking a flexible, innovative and collaborative approach to build strong community relationships and ensure every child had access to a quality education during a time of great need.
This initiative brought together schools from Broadwater to the Tweed, focusing on helping students rebuild through education and engagement.
The nominated schools include Tumbulgum Public School, Crabbes Creek Public School, Condong Public School, Mullumbimby Public School, Mullumbimby High School, Blakebrook Public School, Cabbage Tree Island Public School, Wardell Public School, Empire Vale Public School, Broadwater Public School, The Rivers Secondary College Richmond River High Campus, and Lismore South Public School.
The NSW Premier’s Awards celebrate excellence in the delivery of public services across NSW, with the World Class Education and Training category highlighting efforts to improve education and training outcomes for the people of NSW.
