THE Tweed will be awash with colour and light this New Year’s Eve as the region welcomes 2026 with events, gigs and celebrations across the shire.
Public events include the Twin Towns fireworks at Jack Evans Boat Harbour at 9 pm and 12 am, and the Cabarita Beach Hotel fireworks at 8 pm and 12 am.
At Twin Towns, live music from 3 pm includes the Abby Skye Band and The Aliens, with Rewind taking the stage at Twin Town Juniors.
Club Banora will host The Hodads and regional favourite Fat Albert for the countdown with fireworks at 9 pm.

The Murwillumbah Leagues Club offers family-friendly vibes and enough for the grown-ups to kick on with free entry from 3-5 pm, 2020 smokehouse feasts from 3 pm until sold out, a jumping castle and kids’ activities, bistro dining and live music from 9 pm until late.
