Pledge to protect the Tweed’s natural beauty this summer

A NEW summer campaign is pitching the Tweed as Australia’s leading eco escape, aiming to draw visitors seeking nature, wellness and low-impact experiences.

The Tweed Tourism Company’s ‘Find Your Feel Good Summer in The Tweed’ campaign celebrates the region’s natural beauty and the launch unveiled a new collaboration with an environmentally friendly sunscreen brand, We Are Feel Good Inc.

Supporting the campaign is the establishment of the Tweed Visitor Pledge, a voluntary commitment inviting visitors to help protect the Tweed’s natural beauty, support local businesses, and discover their own feel-good moments.

Tweed Tourism Company general manager Sally Scott said the campaign was built on the region’s reputation for relaxation, nature, wellness, and eco-activities.

“We wanted to embrace the idea of a summer escape that is steeped in nature, wellness and well-being, so it is good for you but also good for the environment,” Scott said.

“The Tweed is the perfect place to enjoy summer and slow down into something softer, more calming and quieter than everyday life in the cities.”

Tweed Shire Mayor Chris Cherry said the pledge was a voluntary commitment to encourage visitors to find their moment responsibly and sustainably.

“It’s exploring the region with curiosity, supporting local businesses and protecting our natural beauty,” Cr Cherry said.

“It is an invitation to savour the flavours and natural experiences of the Tweed, but also to respect Bundjalung country, and cherish our culture and celebrate experiences that will inspire unforgettable moments.”

The campaign includes multi-channel marketing activity, including photography, partnerships with leading Australian travel magazines, Feel Good Inc. ambassadors, as well as digital marketing and content to attract travellers to the Tweed’s outdoor lifestyle, wellness options and stunning landscapes.

Visitors who sign the pledge before December 31 will go in the draw to win a sunscreen gift pack.
