A NEW-look Shaws Bay Hotel has reinforced its reputation as a premier hospitality venue in the region, recently reopening after a multi-million dollar renovation.
The pub was closed for 11 months to complete extensive work and upgrades with a new bar area, extended pavilion, and more undercover seating.
Owners Colin and Tina Parras bought the pub in 2021 and said there has been an overwhelming response from the community.
“We are ecstatic to be back, and our fantastic team are one of the finest we have ever worked with,” they said.
“We are showcasing the Northern Rivers’ most iconic hospitality venue and its offerings.
“Just about every facet of the renovations has multiple offerings.”
The renovations included a complete overhaul of the courtyard with the aim to enhance the outdoor location and its water views by the bay.

The new menu has been curated by Justin North who has more than 30 years’ experience in some of Sydney’s premier dining spaces.
Local head chef Lachlan Smith is back in the kitchen along with general manager Amber Jones.
“Lots of local staff that are part of the Ballina community have come on board at this great hotel,” the owners said.
“Our new menu is inspired by great pub bistro fare but executed with the finest produce available.
“We have multiple dishes that have been a hit but seafood, steaks, burgers and chicken parmis are a huge hit.”
The pub remains pet-friendly with designated dog zones in the rear beer garden and front yard.
The Historic Fenwick House, next to the property, has been preserved as part of the renovation.
