Seniors’ time to shine
A BYRON Seniors Festival highlight event features a celebration of creativity tonight, March 7, at the Byron Theatre.
Byron Seniors Festival 2025 Showcase: Time to Shine highlights the artistic endeavours of local seniors who are rejoicing in creativity, talent, and community.
The event also marks 130 years of community spirit for Byron Community Centre.
Byron Theatre manager Jon Howell said the event was about honouring the power of the arts in life’s journey.
“We’re excited to bring such a diverse and engaging event to the Byron community,” he said.

“This showcase is not only about live performances but celebrating talent, fostering connection for our local seniors and inspiring creativity at every stage of life.”
The event includes live music by Cass Eager, a dramatic performance by Studio 55, hula dance by Byron Bay Hula/Mana Aloha Troupe, and many more artistic expressions.
The NSW Seniors Festival is the largest celebration of seniors in the Southern Hemisphere. It coincides with a significant milestone for the Byron Community Centre, which recently launched the Byron Seniors Club.
The free initiative for local seniors offers regular activities, including Drum Circle, Hula Dancing, storytelling sessions, and special events.

Showcase organisers promise heartfelt performances, uplifting entertainment and lots of community spirit.
The showcase provides a platform for seniors and other talented individuals to share their artistry, demonstrating that creativity has no age limit.
Tickets for the 5 pm event are $10, and entry includes a selection of finger food during the interval.
