The NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards recognise the positive role seniors play in the community, and nominations for the 2025 awards are now open.

The awards are part of the largest seniors’ festival in the southern hemisphere, with over 500,000 people attending each year.

The 2025 festival’s theme is Time to Shine! and it celebrates the contributions and achievements of seniors across the state.

Lismore MP Janelle Saffin said highlighting seniors’ continued efforts to help the Lismore Electorate thrive challenges ageism and empowers seniors to overcome social stigmas.

“If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution,” Ms Saffin said.

“This annual festival is about celebrating the positive impact of older people in our families and society.”

Nominations are now open for the awards program, an initiative by the NSW Government aimed at supporting the state’s seniors to live happy, healthy, and active lives.

Winners of the Local Achievement Awards will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from March 3-16, 2025.

The awards program is part of an exciting schedule of events across the state.
