INTERNATIONAL touring artist Zee Gachette will bring her genre-defying band Z-Star Trinity to the Mullumbimby Ex-Services Club on Sunday, September 14.

The London-born Trinidadian frontwoman has built a cult following for her high-octane live performances, drawing comparisons to Jimi Hendrix, Prince and Nina Simone.

Known for her raspy vocals and powerful stage presence, Gachette blends psychedelic rock, soul, funk and R&B in a sound described as both transcendent and raw.

She will be joined by Australian drummer Beck Flatt and Brazilian bassist Vini Mel for the one-night-only local show.

Their last performance in the region prompted praise from local music reviewers, with Echo Net Daily calling it “a mind-blowing wall of sound that starts at level 100 and launches skyward from there”.

“If Led Zep came back as a three-piece comprising a female lead with Trinidadian roots, a crazed pint-sized and dreaded drummer exuding the same passion as Bonham, and a driving rhythmic bass machine in human form, it would be Z-Star Trinity,” the review said.

Gachette has performed on stages around the world, including private shows in castles and wine cellars, runway events for Ralph Lauren, and an orchestral collaboration in Naples.

Doors open at 5pm, with live music from 6pm and a 9pm curfew.

Tickets are $35, with group bundles available. For bookings, visit the TryBooking website.
