TWEED Seagulls will shine a spotlight on the contributions of women in rugby league and the wider community when they host the annual Ladies Luncheon.

The event, supported by the Landy Group, will be held on Friday, 15 May at the Seagulls Club, bringing together guests for an afternoon of conversation and celebration.

It aims to highlight the growing number of women involved in rugby league from the playing ranks to administration and volunteer roles.

It will be hosted by radio and television personality Bianca Dye, who will guide a panel discussion featuring a range of guest speakers from sport, media and community sectors.

Tweed Seagulls chief executive Brendon Lindsay said the event is an important opportunity to recognise the role women play across all areas of the club and its broader network.

“It’s an opportunity for us to put a spotlight on all the great women working in and around our club,” he said.

“We split the day into three panels, with a focus on the club, women who support us through our corporate partners, and a sports panel.”

Among those joining the discussion is Mel Greig, a well-known radio host and former presenter of the nationally syndicated Hot 30 Countdown.

In recent years, Greig has focused on advocacy and community impact through her role with the Top Blokes Foundation, supporting programs aimed at improving mental health and wellbeing among young men.

Also contributing to the panel is Renee Cohen who is the general manager of community and game development at the Gold Coast Titans.

She leads initiatives to grow rugby league participation and promote inclusion across the game.

More guest speakers and panel information will be announced in the lead-up to the event.
