SMALL business owners in Byron Bay are featured in a new ad campaign aimed at raising awareness about cyber threats and promoting the free Cyber Wardens program.<\/p>\n

The “Stop the Hack” campaign, directed by award-winning filmmaker Rebecca O’Brien, highlights the importance of cyber security for small businesses.<\/p>\n

The advertisements were filmed by renowned cinematographer Hugh Miller in Byron Bay’s small business hub and star real business owners from various industries who have dealt with cyber threats.<\/p>\n

The campaign encourages small business owners to take proactive steps to protect their enterprises from cyber-attacks.<\/p>\n

Byron small business owner Pip Band, who plays the character Josie in the ad, said the training had been reassuring.<\/p>\n

“Before doing the Cyber Wardens program, not a day went by where I wasn’t concerned about cyber threats to our family business,” Ms Band said.<\/p>\n

Small businesses don’t have the same cyber security protections as larger firms and are increasingly being targeted by cyber criminals.<\/p>\n

They are often attacked as a stepping stone to larger firms, for customer data to conduct further hacks, or directly for their intellectual property and financial gain.<\/p>\n

The “Stop the Hack” campaign showcases the Cyber Wardens program, a free initiative funded by the federal government through the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia.<\/p>\n

The ads aim to inspire action within the small business community by raising awareness of the program and its benefits.<\/p>\n
