Dillon, who grew up attending the show, was thrilled by the unexpected win, which fulfilled a dream she&#8217;s held since childhood.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been going to the show for as long as I can remember; I was not expecting it at all,&#8221; Dillon said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/10\/462871751_9326499122_69450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lismore Show&#8217;s Young Woman 2024 runner-up Charlie Murray and winner Maddy Dillon. Photo SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Growing up in Lismore, Dillon now owns a home in Coraki with her partner. Although she didn&#8217;t grow up on a farm, she&#8217;s always been passionate about dairy cattle and dreams of owning a farm one day. &#8220;Farm life in general really interests me,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<p>Dillon, who works as a farmhand on a dairy farm in Ruthven, views her role as Young Woman as a chance to learn more about agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m keen to see where it takes me, what opportunities it brings, and how it helps me as a young woman in agriculture,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/10\/463120543_9326499022_69412.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lismore Show&#8217;s Teen Showgirl runner-up Shenae Flanagan, Young Woman runner-up, Charlie Murray , Teen Showgirl Rose Mills, and Young Woman Maddy Dillon. Photo CATHY ADAMS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit, housed in the newly upgraded Norma&#8217;s Kitchen, features seven images from last year&#8217;s show by award-winning photojournalist Jacklyn Wagner &#8220;I think it touches base with my growing up,&#8221; Wagner said. &#8220;I grew up in a country town and have always enjoyed capturing the characters at the show.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In times like these there&#8217;s a real wanting to touch base the community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The show continues through the weekend, featuring a Community Parade, Cosplay judging, and the Grand Parade of Stud Beef Cattle, with festivities concluding in a Grand Fireworks Finale on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2024\/10\/DSC_3294_55532.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photogapher Jacklyn Wagner with her images that capture the heart of the Lismore Show.
