{"id":103869,"date":"2024-12-28T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-27T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=103869"},"modified":"2024-12-19T11:00:44","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T00:00:44","slug":"j-and-j-rodeo-set-to-bring-bulls-to-the-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/sport\/j-and-j-rodeo-set-to-bring-bulls-to-the-bay\/","title":{"rendered":"J and J Rodeo set to bring Bulls to the Bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A POPULAR bull riding and freestyle motocross show is set to return to Byron Bay in one of the first major events of the New Year.<\/p>\n<p>J and J Rodeo will host Bulls in the Bay return to Red Devil Park as part of an action-packed night of entertainment on Saturday, January 4.<\/p>\n<p>Fearless riders will take on the bulls in a display of skill and courage.<\/p>\n<p>Categories include open, novice, junior and mini-bull events.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the best bull riders in the country will be at the event along with world record holders from the freestyle motocross scene.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of them come from the Nitro Circus and Crusty Demons background.<\/p>\n<p>FMX world-record holder Brodie Carmichael and former professional bull rider David Kennedy have been part of previous events at Casino, Evans Head and Lismore.<\/p>\n<p>The motocross riders defy gravity with flips and tricks over the rodeo chutes with pre-show and intermission entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Early shows have been a success with J and J Rodeo bringing their experience in the industry to create a unique and popular concept.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson and Janaya Felton operate the rodeo business which was established at Casino.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Felton is a second-generation bull rider who has represented Australia across the United States and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The pair aimed to bring bull riding motocross together to provide entertainment for the whole family.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have a background in the industry and we know what we do works,&#8221; Ms Felton said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s designed to be fast-paced and the action is non-stop once we get going.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year&#8217;s event was next-level and this year we&#8217;re hoping to make it even bigger and better.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There will be a dedicated family zone with rides on the mechanical bull, bouncing castle, face painting and a chance to see the animal nursery.<\/p>\n<p>Country music singer Teak Fairfull will play on the night with food trucks and bar facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Gates open at 4pm with kids under five free.
