{"id":106270,"date":"2025-04-13T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-12T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=106270"},"modified":"2025-04-15T11:53:26","modified_gmt":"2025-04-15T01:53:26","slug":"rock-and-roll-legends-bring-special-show-to-the-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/news\/rock-and-roll-legends-bring-special-show-to-the-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Rock and roll legends bring special show to the region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A LARGE crowd was treated to two 1960s rock legends in concert when Normie Rowe and Digger Revell played at the Ballina RSL Club.<\/p>\n<p>It attracted people of all ages and was a celebration of two pioneers of Australian rock and roll.<\/p>\n<p>Photographer Linda Willmott was there on the night and has a close association with Rowe and his family.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve seen him play numerous times, but I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ve ever seen a crowd so engrossed in it,&#8221; Willmott said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was a special moment where mayor Sharon Cadwallader was up on stage to say thank you and they both embraced her.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both of them are gentlemen and absolute legends to see live.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I photograph a lot of bands and performances; this one was just a great experience to be part of.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Willmott said it was a timely performance in the lead-up to Anzac Day.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/04\/12_79167.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"484\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Normie Rowe signing merchandise with his wife Samantha Gowing after the show.
