OTHERWORLD Byron Bay is hosting an augmented reality Easter egg hunt throughout the April school holidays.<\/p>\n

Children visiting the immersive art and light gallery will be encouraged to search for hidden gems created by local artist The Space Cowboy.<\/p>\n

They will be given clues to uncover miniature images of his augmented reality masterpieces, with each hidden “egg” revealing a clue.<\/p>\n

OTHERWORLD founder, former Byron Shire mayor Simon Richardson, said the team wanted to create something magical where art meets adventure.<\/p>\n

“This isn’t your average egg hunt\u2014it’s a journey through creativity, imagination and tech-powered play,” he said. “And yes, we can’t resist providing an egg as a reward upon successful completion of the hunt.”<\/p>\n

Inspired by interactive and 360-degree experiences at cultural festivals such as Coachella and Burning Man and venues such as The Lume in Melbourne and Team Lab in Tokyo, OTHERWORLD showcases the works of Australian and international digital and immersive artists.<\/p>\n

The attraction features 16 exhibits and takes around an hour to experience. Visitors can walk through an LED tunnel, take selfies with infinity mirror boxes and walk amongst giant glowing flowers. They can see an Indigenous dot painting come to life and lie back in beanbags inside a large dome and watch a 360-degree movie.<\/p>\n

The Easter egg hunt is on daily until April 26.<\/p>\n

Mr Richardson warned tickets are limited so it’s best to book in advance.<\/p>\n
