{"id":106382,"date":"2025-04-19T04:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-18T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/?p=106382"},"modified":"2025-04-16T19:57:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-16T09:57:45","slug":"bangalow-school-paints-the-town-at-annual-colour-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/tweedcoasttimes\/news\/bangalow-school-paints-the-town-at-annual-colour-run\/","title":{"rendered":"Bangalow school paints the town at annual colour run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STUDENTS, teachers and even the principal got into the spirit at Bangalow Public School&#8217;s Colour Run fundraiser last week.<\/p>\n<p>Children from kindergarten to Year 6 were squirted with bright powder as they took turns running around a course at Bangalow Showground, navigating a series of challenges.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/04\/BangalowPublicSchool_67900.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"557\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bangalow Public School principal Carol Antoun got into the fun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was amazing,&#8221; assistant principal Katie-Eve Gisen said. &#8220;The sun came out for the day and the School Fun Run team set up the big inflatable arches.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We set up the obstacle course and stations around the big showground. One of the stations was water sponging the principal, Carol Antoun, and every student was able to do that.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/04\/Ateachercolouringthe_70587.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"497\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A teacher spraying the crowd at Bangalow Public School&#8217;s colour run.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also had a dance party in the middle at the end, which was also great with music blasting and students dancing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The event is the student representative council&#8217;s major fundraiser for the year. Students raised more than $24,000 for the school by seeking donations, minus costs and prizes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/04\/NotevenBoothedogwass_84529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"482\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Not even Boo the dog was safe at Bangalow Public School&#8217;s colour run.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The money will be used to purchase class readers, library books, a portable outdoor PA system and technology and robotics for learning.<\/p>\n<p>It is the third time the school has held a colour run.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Last year we had a year off and at the end of the year the SRC students decided we needed to do it in 2025 as it was so much fun in past years,&#8221; Mrs Gisen said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/29\/2025\/04\/GirlsatBangalowPubli_85820.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"502\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Girls at Bangalow Public School&#8217;s colour run. The kids loved these lead-up events.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s such a school community event with so many parents watching and cheering on their children.
