BOLLARDS, tactiles and bus shelters damaged in the 2022 floods are being replaced across Lismore’s CBD as part of ongoing safety upgrades.<\/p>\n
Lismore City Council said the works fall under its urban safety programme and Flood Restoration Portfolio.<\/p>\n
Work has started along Woodlark and Molesworth streets and is expected to be completed within eight weeks.<\/p>\n
A new bus shelter will also be built at John Crowther Carpark, near the corner of Dawson and Woodlark Streets.<\/p>\n
“Increased noise, dust and vibrations may be experienced during the works, though crews will do their best to minimise disruption to the community,” a council spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
“Specific dates, times and locations will be communicated directly to businesses and organisations in proximity to the works.”<\/p>\n
Council’s Flood Restoration Portfolio is a dedicated initiative to restore and strengthen infrastructure, environment and community facilities.<\/p>\n
It has already repaired roads, bridges and waste facilities, and upgraded water and wastewater systems.<\/p>\n
The team is also responsible for flood mitigation measures, including levee improvements and drainage works.<\/p>\n
It will soon undertake CCTV inspections of stormwater drains across the CBD and select residential areas to inform future maintenance priorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
