TWEED Shire Council is inviting the community to have its say on a review of the draft Community Strategic Plan 2025-2035.<\/p>\n

Residents have also been asked to view other key documents that will guide the Council and community development in the future.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the Council, in collaboration with the community and stakeholders, developed a new Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and reviewed the existing strategy to determine progress.<\/p>\n

Part of the Office of Local Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, the CSP is premised on the community’s aspirations for the next decade.<\/p>\n

Tweed Shire Mayor Chris Cherry said the Council wanted to plan\u202fwith the community to enable sustainable community outcomes for generations.<\/p>\n

“The Community Strategic Plan 2025\u20132035 is a roadmap for the decade ahead\u2014 shaped by our community, for our community,” Cr Cherry said.<\/p>\n

“More than just a plan, it is a commitment to the future we want to create together, which is why we would love to hear from you.”<\/p>\n

The Tweed community has previously said it wants a\u202fhealthy\u202fnatural\u202fenvironment, and to\u202fbe safe at home and in the community with reliable essential services and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Residents also wanted Tweed’s people and places to thrive and to work together to\u202fplan for the future sustainably.<\/p>\n

Key community priorities have remained consistent in the 2024 statistically representative ‘Be Our Best Resident’ survey completed by over 400 Tweed residents.<\/p>\n

Priorities include more\/better services\u202fand facilities, maintaining and upgrading the local road network, access to more affordable housing and managing population\u202fgrowth and overdevelopment<\/p>\n
